Sarah Reynolds, a Professional Organizer in Ireland, Shares Her Holiday Wishes
GT: Please tell me what your ‘typical’ day is like on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
SR: During the afternoon of Christmas Eve, my family, my boyfriend and I like to go into the city centre. We wander around the main shopping thoroughfare in Dublin – Grafton Street – and soak up the Christmas atmosphere.
Christmas morning my boyfriend and I head up to my parents to exchange gifts & have a big Irish breakfast. Dinner is usually at four o’clock and that evening we might visit some family or spend the evening together playing board games.
GT: What do you want for Christmas this year?
SR: I would love a little kitten but I don’t think Santa can manage that this year!
GT: How will you celebrate New Year’s Eve?
SR: My boyfriend is French so we usually go to France just after Christmas. We spend New Year’s Eve skiing during the day and then ring in the new year with a nice dinner at our hotel and of course a few glasses of champagne!
GT: Are you making any resolutions or goals for 2013?
SR: I would like to improve my photography and get more exercise. I did well enough with my fitness in 2012, but I should really try harder!
GT: What is your favorite Christmas song or story?
SR: Oh that would have to be the story of the nativity. It’s a lovely, simple story with a happy ending and I like hearing it every year.
Sarah has many years’ experience organising everything from conferences to Christmas events, theatre to television shows due to a strong administration background in human resources and media.
Seeing a gap in the market, Sarah started her business ‘Organised Chaos’ in June 2011 and has been delighted with the uptake of the service and success of the business to date.
When Sarah is not organising, she likes skiing, theatre and photography. Sarah lives with her boyfriend in Clontarf, Dublin.
