Back-to-school means it’s time for school lunches. Here are some tips to help you get organized and eliminate stress.
If your children prefer a bagged lunch, it is much less stressful to make the lunches and refrigerate them the night before. Try to “go green”; encourage kids to use containers which can be brought home, washed, and refilled rather than thrown away. It’s a great way to introduce them to the other 3 Rs: recycling, repurposing, and reusing.
If your children buy their lunches, put the money into the zippered section of their back packs the night before. Many schools accept “credit cards”. Kids are given a plastic card and parents can prepay for lunches; a card is swiped to deduct the amount of the purchase.

Hi Geralin, I found your tips to be very helpful. My son Alex and I enjoy watching your show Hoarders! You were so kind and patient with Ron, Jennifer and the children. Do you still have contact with them? Also, If you could let us know when your future appearances will be – it would be much appreciated. We will stay tuned!
Hi Gerlin,
Loved this post! School lunches can be the big overwhelm for families. The kids can get in on making the lunches if you create a section of your pantry for them to “grab and go” the night before, get the goodies in the bag in the frig, and just drop them in the backpack in the morning. Your kids can shop with you at Sam’s or Costco for the goodies too.
